Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Year 4 Support

Pay: £120 per day
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term

Duration: Until at least July 2027
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Slough. This is a long-term opportunity supporting a bright and capable Year 4 pupil who requires additional encouragement, structure, and motivation throughout the school day.
The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the child remain engaged in lessons, maintain focus, and build confidence both academically and socially. The pupil is able and eager to learn but can become easily distracted, so consistency, patience, and a positive attitude are essential.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting children with additional needs, behavioural support, or classroom-based intervention work.
The Role
· Providing 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil
· Encouraging engagement and maintaining focus during lessons
· Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
· Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
· Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
· Building a strong and supportive relationship with the pupil
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
· Previous experience working with children in a school setting
· Experience supporting pupils with additional needs or behavioural challenges
· A calm, patient, and proactive approach
· Strong communication and teamwork skills
· The ability to motivate and inspire young learners
· An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
