The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support pupils across the primary age range, helping to raise attainment, improve confidence, and create a positive learning environment.
The Role
As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils within the classroom to maximise engagement and progress.
- Deliver targeted interventions to individuals and small groups.
- Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
- Support pupils with varying learning needs and abilities.
- Help promote positive behaviour and engagement with learning.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
The Ideal Candidate
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Previous experience working with children, either within a school, nursery, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, childcare, or youth work setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, proactive, and professional approach.
- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above or equivalent).
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant.
- Experience delivering interventions in Literacy or Numeracy.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
- A Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant childcare qualification.
- A degree in Education, Psychology, English, Maths, or a related subject.
