Qualifications: Registered First Level Nurse (RMN)
Summary of role: This is more than a nursing role, it is involvement in benefiting our residents ensuring their well-being is paramount at all times.
Responsible for the skilled practical nursing care of residents and the supervision of nursing and care practice under the direction of the Home Manager, promoting and maintaining a high standard of care. Being part of the team. The role will include Weekend shifts.
Responsibilities:
- We are a 60 Bed Specialist Dementia home, with a family atmosphere. Dementia care requires people who are naturals, intuitive, emotionally intelligent, spontaneous, flexible and aware of what matters most in life.
- To demonstrate commitment to and skill in a person centred approach, able to demonstrate a relaxed manner within the team, emphasising people's individual needs and not tasks and routines.
- Identifying residents’ physical, psychological, social and emotional needs, and note and report any changes to the Home Manager.
- You will be a strong communicator, with residents’ relatives and visitors and acting on any relevant information, reporting to the Home Manager where applicable. to eliminate controlling language.To support families, friends and supporters of people living with dementia.
- You will be responsible for medication and clinical needs, along with relevant paperwork, but above all you will be part of the team, involved in the residents lives on a daily basis. To contribute positively to a team approach.
- To participate in and implement learning which develops one's own emotional self-awareness and a person centred approach to others
- To undertake and meet all legal requirements within a context of promoting individual's right and measuring/reducing elements of risk.
