Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Restaurant General Manager to oversee daily operations in a busy hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high levels of operational efficiency to provide an outstanding dining experience for guests.
Duties
- Lead and supervise all restaurant FOH staff, including chefs, servers, and kitchen personnel, fostering a positive team environment.
- Oversee food and cooking processes to ensure quality standards are met consistently.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across all areas.
- Organise staff schedules, delegate tasks effectively, and monitor performance to optimise productivity.
- Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Coordinate with suppliers for inventory management and ensure stock levels are maintained appropriately.
- Implement marketing initiatives to attract new customers and retain existing clientele.
- Monitor performance, including sales targets and cost control measures, to maximise profitability.
Requirements
- Proven experience in restaurant management or supervisory roles within hospitality settings.
- Extensive knowledge of food safety standards and food production processes.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with experience in team management and supervising diverse staff groups.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
- Previous experience in hospitality or hotel environments is desirable.
- Familiarity with serving protocols and hospitality industry best practices.
- Ability to motivate staff and foster a collaborative team culture.
- Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
