Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a keen eye for food safety and presentation. This role involves overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, and fostering a positive team environment. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs and kitchen assistants, to ensure efficient operation
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet quality standards and customer expectations
- Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends and customer preferences
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene throughout the kitchen
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control costs to optimise resource utilisation
- Train and mentor staff to improve skills and promote professional development
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Monitor kitchen operations during service hours to uphold efficiency and quality standards
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within a busy culinary environment, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Extensive food production, preparation, and cooking experience with a strong understanding of various cuisines
- Demonstrated team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead staff effectively
- Solid knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
- Experience in menu development, food presentation, and restaurant operations
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen management
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is highly desirable
