Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Hotel Night Porter to oversee the smooth operation of our hotel during the overnight shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring guest safety, providing exceptional guest services, and maintaining the security of the premises throughout the night. Duties
- Welcome and assist guests arriving during the night, ensuring a warm and professional first impression
- Handle guest enquiries via phone and in person with excellent phone etiquette and hospitality skills
- Monitor security systems and conduct regular patrols of the hotel premises to ensure safety and security
- Manage late-night check-ins and check-outs efficiently and accurately
- Respond promptly to any guest requests or issues, providing solutions or escalating as necessary
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front desk area and public spaces during your shift
- Record all incidents or irregularities in accordance with hotel procedures
- Assist with administrative tasks such as logging arrivals, departures, and special requests
Requirements
- Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly advantageous for effective communication with diverse guests
- Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, approachable manner
- Strong phone etiquette and communication skills
- Ability to work independently during night hours while remaining vigilant and professional
- Organised, reliable, and able to handle stressful situations calmly
- Knowledge of hotel operations and security procedures is desirable but not mandatory
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts on a rota basis, including weekends and holidays if required
