Portaferry Leisure Centre is seeking a motivated and responsible Operations Officer to support the safe and efficient running of our busy facility. This role is ideal for someone with strong organisational skills, a commitment to customer service, and experience working in a leisure or public‑facing environment.
Key Responsibilities

Facility operations - Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the centre during allocated shifts.

Health & safety monitoring - Ensure all areas meet safety standards, complete checks, and respond to incidents.

Customer service - Provide a welcoming environment and assist customers with enquiries.

Staff coordination - Support and guide leisure attendants and casual staff during shifts.

Pool supervision - Assist with poolside operations, ensuring compliance with procedures.

Opening/closing duties - Secure the building and ensure all areas are prepared for use.
Essential Skills & Experience

Strong communication and leadership abilities

Experience in a leisure, sports, or customer‑service environment

Confidence in enforcing safety procedures

Ability to work evenings and weekends reliably

Pool plant or lifeguard qualifications (or willingness to train)
