Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to support children with special educational needs within our educational setting. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils, providing tailored assistance to facilitate their learning and development. Duties
- Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning programmes for children with special educational needs, including autism and disabilities
- Support children during classroom activities, ensuring they are engaged and included
- Provide one-to-one support to pupils requiring additional help, including toddlers and young children
- Implement behaviour management strategies in accordance with school policies
- Aid in the organisation of classroom resources and materials to optimise learning environments
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that encourages social interaction and development
- Communicate effectively with pupils, teachers, parents, and external professionals to support individualised education plans (IEPs)
- Support children during break times, lunch periods, and outings as required
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other special educational needs is highly desirable
- Strong teaching abilities with a focus on personalised learning approaches
- Proven experience working with children across various age groups, including toddlers
- Knowledge of special education practices and strategies for supporting children with disabilities
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with pupils, colleagues, and parents
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development
- Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic environment
