Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Kitchen Supervisor to lead the kitchen operation at Gather & Graze when we open our doors on Monday 22nd June 2026. This role is ideal for someone with strong chef / cooking experience who can confidently manage kitchen service, maintain high food standards, and oversee the kitchen team and operations.
The Kitchen Supervisor will take responsibility for the smooth running of the kitchen in the absence of the Area Catering Manager and will play an important role in maintaining quality, organisation, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items to a consistently high standard
- Supervise kitchen operations during service
- Support with menu preparation, specials, and food presentation
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards
- Monitor stock levels and report ordering requirements
- Ensure kitchen cleaning schedules are completed
- Minimise waste and maintain portion control
- Support and supervise kitchen staff and junior team members
- Assist with deliveries, stock rotation, and organisation
- Take responsibility for kitchen operations when management is not present
- Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a kitchen supervisory or senior cook role
- Strong cooking and food preparation skills
- Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment
- Leadership and teamwork skills
- Reliable, organised, and proactive
Desirable
- Food Hygiene qualifications
- Experience in cafés, brunch kitchens, or fast-paced hospitality venues
- Experience supervising or training staff
- Knowledge of stock control and ordering
