Waking Night Residential Support Worker

Location: Chipping, Near Preston
Salary & Benefits
Hourly rate: £15.50 per hour
Approximate annual salary: £34,038.00
Performance bonus: up to £2,400.00 per year
Total annual earnings potential: up to £36,438.00
Shifts: 3 on 3 off rolling shift patten
Additional earning potential:
- Sign on bonus up to £1,500.00 in the first 6 months
- £500.00 payable after 3 months of satisfactory service
- Further £1,000.00 payable after 6 months of satisfactory service

What you'll do
- Provide overnight supervision and support to children and young people
- Maintain a safe and secure home environment throughout the night
- Complete regular checks and respond appropriately to any issues that arise
- Support children who may need reassurance or assistance during the night
- Complete records, logs, and handovers accurately
- Follow safeguarding procedures and company policies at all times
- Contribute to a smooth handover with the day team
What we're looking for
Essential:
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people ages 8-18
- Ability to work waking night shifts consistently and responsibly
- Good communication and record keeping skills
- Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in challenging situations
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- 12 months experience working in children’s residential care or a similar setting
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to work towards it
- Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs
