Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Level 3 or Above Room Leader to oversee and support early childhood education within our nursery setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children and fostering a nurturing environment. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team, implement high standards of care, and contribute to the development of young children in a professional setting. The position is paid and requires a commitment to maintaining excellent childcare practices in accordance with regulatory standards.
Hours are: 7:30am - 6pm 4 days a week with one day off each week. Open 48 weeks of the year.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of early years practitioners, ensuring high-quality care and education for children
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging activities tailored to children's developmental needs
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment that promotes learning and development
- Support the professional development of team members through mentoring and training
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children's progress and wellbeing
- Ensure compliance with all safeguarding policies, health & safety regulations, and childcare legislation
- Organise daily routines including meal times, play sessions, and rest periods in line with organisational policies
- Manage administrative tasks such as record keeping, planning documentation, and reporting to senior management
Experience
- Hold a recognised Level 3 qualification or higher in Childcare or Early Childhood Education
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or similar childcare setting
- Demonstrable management or leadership experience within early years environments
- Strong understanding of child development principles and early years curriculum frameworks
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Experience working collaboratively within a team environment
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or attending external meetings or training sessions

Pay: £26,500.00-£35,000.00 per year
