Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cover School Cleaner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and hygienic environment within school premises, ensuring that all areas are safe, tidy, and welcoming for students and staff. This role offers flexible coverage to support our ongoing cleaning needs across various school locations. Prior experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work is highly desirable. The position is paid and suitable for individuals committed to delivering high standards of cleanliness in an educational setting.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment
- Ensure all surfaces are sanitised and maintained to health and safety standards
- Empty bins, dispose of waste responsibly, and replenish supplies such as toilet paper and soap where necessary
- Maintain cleanliness of floors through sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming as required
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards to the designated supervisor promptly
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times during cleaning activities
- Adapt to different school schedules and requirements to provide flexible cleaning coverage as needed
Requirements
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work is preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Reliable with a professional attitude towards hygiene standards
- Flexibility to cover various shifts as required by the school schedule
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
