Justteachers is currently recruiting a committed and compassionate Education Practitioner to support a specialist education programme within an alternative provision in Leeds. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with young people who benefit from a personalised and therapeutic approach to learning due to SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs.
The Cultivate programme provides a nurturing and structured environment where students are supported to re-engage with education, build confidence, and develop essential life skills. As a practitioner, you will play a key role in delivering tailored learning experiences and supporting pupils’ emotional and academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Learning
· Deliver engaging and differentiated teaching materials in collaboration with the Head of Teaching and Learning
· Support student projects, placements, and field trips
· Mark and assess work, providing constructive feedback
· Maintain accurate records to track student progress and demonstrate impact
· Build strong relationships with students and uphold high standards of behaviour
· Support delivery across subjects and attend offsite visits when required
Planning & Organisation
· Work closely with leadership and SENDCo to support smooth transitions and personalised learning journeys
· Embed EHCP and Pupil Passport outcomes into daily practice
· Liaise with parents/carers and external professionals to support engagement and attendance
· Contribute to the design and implementation of individualised learning packages
· Support the implementation of behaviour and reward structures
· Assist in promoting attendance and engagement across the provision
Administration
· Maintain up-to-date records, reports, and intervention logs
· Use systems such as CPOMS and Behaviour Watch to monitor pupil progress and wellbeing
Requirements:
· Strong understanding of safeguarding practices and procedures
· Experience working with complex young people in education or care settings
· Ability to deliver tailored education packages and build positive relationships
· Familiarity with CPOMS and behaviour tracking systems
· Full UK driving licence
