We’re looking for a solid Head Chef to run the kitchen at The Belle Vue, a busy, well-loved pub in Pegwell Bay with a cracking terrace overlooking the bay.
It’s a proper summer pub - busy when the sun’s out, locals all year round - and we’re after someone who enjoys leading a team, keeping standards high and cooking fresh food without the drama.
The Job
You’ll be fully in charge of your kitchen and your team day-to-day.
The main menu is the Beach Street Restaurants pub menu, which all of our pubs run. You’ll work closely with our Exec Chef and the other Head Chefs across the group, sharing ideas, helping to develop the menus, keeping things consistent and supporting each other. Alongside that, you’ll have the freedom to run your own regular specials — that’s where you can show your style, work with the seasons and keep the team engaged. Your job is to ensure your team deliver great food, keep it consistent and make sure standards don’t slip.
Key responsibilities
-Run your kitchen properly — standards, rotas, stock, training
-Deliver the core pub menu well and consistently
-Create specials that show what you can do
-Build and lead a kitchen team people actually want to work in
-Keep food costs, stock and ordering under control (with good systems in place)
-Keep the kitchen calm, organised and running smoothly — even when it’s busy
