We are looking for a Deputy Nursery Manager to join the family at Buckfastleigh...
Ready to Take the Next Step in Your Early Years Career?
Are you an experienced Room Lead or Deputy Nursery Manager looking to develop your leadership skills within a supportive, family-focused nursery?
At Nanny Bears, we believe that exceptional childcare starts with exceptional people. We recruit based on values and attitude, building teams of passionate, positive and like-minded individuals who genuinely care about children, families and each other.
Our beautiful nursery in Buckfastleigh is looking for a warm, enthusiastic and motivated Deputy Nursery Manager to join our leadership team and help create a nurturing environment where every child is cared for as if they were one of our own.
About the Role
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, supporting the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day running of the nursery while continuing to inspire children through outstanding practice.
As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will play a key role in both the leadership of the nursery and the day-to-day care of the children. You will have your own key group of children, building strong relationships with them and their families, while helping to lead our Over 2's Room, ensuring it provides an engaging, nurturing and inspiring environment where every child can thrive.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Nursery Manager in leading and motivating a positive, high-performing staff team.
- Helping to lead the Over 2's Room, modelling outstanding practice and supporting colleagues to deliver high-quality care and education.
- Acting as a Key Person for your own group of children, building strong partnerships with families and supporting each child's individual learning and development.
- Leading by example, delivering exceptional care and learning experiences every day.
- Supporting the day-to-day organisation and smooth running of the nursery.
- Helping to maintain high standards of care, safeguarding and compliance with the EYFS.
- Mentoring and supporting practitioners in their professional development.
- Encouraging creativity, curiosity and child-led learning throughout the nursery.
- Promoting the Nanny Bears ethos by creating a calm, welcoming and home-from-home environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading by example, remains passionate about working directly with children, and wants to continue developing their management skills within a supportive and encouraging company.
Why Join Nanny Bears?
At Nanny Bears, we do things differently.
We believe our team should feel as cared for as the children in our nurseries. Our settings are relaxed, welcoming and sociable places where staff are encouraged to build meaningful relationships, support one another and genuinely enjoy coming to work.
