Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pre school Room Leader to oversee the daily operations of one of our vibrant kindergarten rooms. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of educators, ensuring the highest standards of care, and creating a stimulating and nurturing environment where children thrive. The Room Leader will be required to uphold and implement all nursery policies, as well as those set out by the United Synagogue, promoting our values and commitment to best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Supervise and support room staff, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure the room operates smoothly on a daily basis.
- Act as a mentor, providing guidance and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Child-Centered Care and Learning:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and age-appropriate activities that support children’s development across all areas.
- Observe and assess individual children’s progress, ensuring their needs are met through tailored strategies.
- Foster children’s curiosity and independence by creating a safe, enriching, and nature-inspired environment.
- Policy Adherence:
- Implement and uphold all nursery policies, including health and safety, safeguarding, and equality.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures set forth by the United Synagogue, including adherence to Jewish values, traditions, and cultural practices.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of statutory frameworks and ensure the room complies with relevant regulations.
- Parent and Community Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong, open communication with parents, providing updates on their child’s progress and addressing any concerns.
- Support the nursery’s role within the community, fostering a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of children’s development and progress in line with nursery protocols.
- Ensure the room is well-equipped and maintained, with resources used effectively.
Person Specification:
- Essential:
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a leadership role within a nursery or early years setting.
- Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Commitment to upholding nursery and United Synagogue policies, with a respect for Jewish traditions and values.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for working with children and fostering their development.
- Desirable:
- Knowledge of outdoor/nature-based learning approaches.

Pay: £25,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
