Job Purpose
Bracknell Forest Borough Council is seeking an Educational Psychologist to provide psychological support and specialist assessment services that promote positive outcomes for children and young people.
The role will contribute to improving educational achievement, emotional wellbeing, inclusion, and development by working collaboratively with schools, families, and multi-agency partners.
The post holder will apply psychological theory, evidence-based practice, and consultation approaches to support children and young people with a wide range of learning, behavioural, social, and emotional needs.
Responsibilities:
Provide psychological assessment, consultation, and intervention services for children and young people experiencing learning, developmental, social, emotional, or behavioural difficulties.
Deliver high-quality psychological advice and statutory assessments in accordance with relevant legislation, SEND regulations, and local authority requirements.
Support schools, educational settings, and families in identifying barriers to learning and developing effective strategies that promote inclusion, attainment, and wellbeing.
Contribute to Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments (EHCNA) through the preparation of clear, evidence-based psychological reports and recommendations.
Apply psychological research and evidence-based methodologies to inform decision-making, intervention planning, and service development.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, social care professionals, health practitioners, and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.
Provide training, consultation, and capacity-building support to educational professionals and partner agencies on psychological approaches and child development.
Contribute to service improvement initiatives, policy development, and the implementation of best practices within educational psychology services.
Maintain accurate records, case documentation, and professional reports in line with professional standards, statutory requirements, and council policies.
