Finance Apprentice
Location: Melton (near Hull, HU14 3HJ)
Salary: National Minimum Wage (age dependent) + 30 days holiday + pension + staff discount across Heron Foods & B&M

As a Finance Apprentice, you'll support our Finance team with a variety of administrative and accounting tasks that help keep our business running smoothly. You'll gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced finance professionals while learning how finance supports a growing national retailer.

About the Role
You'll be part of our Finance team, supporting the day-to-day financial operations of a business with over 340 stores across the UK.
Working alongside experienced colleagues, you'll learn key finance processes and gain practical experience across areas such as purchase ledger, reconciliations, reporting and financial administration.
Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting with the processing of invoices and financial documents

Maintaining accurate financial records and databases

Assisting with account reconciliations and resolving queries

Processing and checking financial information for accuracy

Liaising with suppliers, stores and internal departments regarding finance-related queries

Supporting the preparation of reports and spreadsheets

Assisting with month-end administration and finance activities

Providing general administrative support to the Finance team

Qualifications

Good standard of English and Maths

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel (desirable but not essential)
