About Broom & Bucket
Broom & Bucket is a family-run, woman-led cleaning company based in Liverpool. We provide high-quality cleaning services for residential homes, commercial premises, and short-term lets.
We are a people-first business. We hire for attitude over experience and invest properly in our team through training, support, and clear expectations.
We are inclusive, kind, and professional. We take pride in our standards and we look after the people who help us deliver them.
The Role
As a Cleaning Operative, you will be responsible for delivering consistently high-quality cleaning across a range of properties.
We work to clear company checklists and high standards. We do not cut corners, we clean them.
We also believe different people suit different types of cleans. Part of your role is working with us to find where you do your best work.
Some team members prefer residential homes, others commercial premises, short-term let changeovers, or deep and detailed cleans. We aim to match the right person to the right clean types wherever possible.
Your role will include:
- Working to company checklists and client-specific instructions
- Cleaning kitchens and bathrooms thoroughly, with strong attention to detail
- Completing general cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitising
- Carrying out deeper cleaning tasks when scheduled (for example ovens, fridges, cupboards, and windows)
- Completing final walk-throughs and double-checking your work before leaving
- Cleaning residential and/or commercial properties, depending on role fit
- Completing short-term let cleans where assigned, following specific turnaround and presentation standards
- Taking pride in your work and leaving every space properly finished
- Communicating clearly with the team and reporting any issues promptly
All cleaning products, equipment, and full training are provided.
Travel, Locations and Vehicle Requirement (Essential)
Due to the equipment and cleaning kits required for each shift, access to a reliable vehicle is essential. Unfortunately, we are unable to hire team members who do not have their own transport.
We aim to assign work based on postcode to keep jobs as close to you as possible. We cover all L postcodes and parts of the Wirral.
Mileage is reimbursed for eligible work-related travel in line with company policy and government guidelines.
Availability, Hours and Scheduling
We work to the availability you give us, as long as it is consistent week to week.
- You tell us what days and times you are regularly available
- That availability should remain consistent each week, aside from holidays or pre-agreed time off
- This consistency allows us to build regular appointments and clients
- We aim to fill your availability with regular work where demand and location allow
- All team members start on a part-time basis while we get to know each other and ensure the role is a good fit
You will begin by shadowing experienced team members, then move onto solo cleans as your confidence and consistency grow.
For those who want it, hours can increase to full-time within around 4-6 weeks (or sooner) depending on performance, reliability, availability, and previous experience.
Training, Hiring Process and Progression
Our hiring process includes:
- Application with pre-screening questions
- An educational video with a short quiz (around 1 hour)
- A brief video interview (based on quiz results)
- A short trial shift as the final stage, serving as an in-person interview and skills assessment
Successful candidates will then attend an onboarding session, where we complete paperwork and get you set up for your initial shifts.
We promote from within wherever possible. If you are reliable, take pride in your work, and want to grow, there are genuine opportunities for progression over time.
