About the Role
In the world of manufacturing, downtime is the enemy. Our electronics repair team is the backbone that keeps production lines moving by diagnosing, repairing, and component-level refurbishing critical automation equipment.
We are looking for a Workshop Manager who brings a perfect balance of excellent team management skills and practical technical expertise. You will take full ownership of managing workshop activities, assigning work to engineers, mentoring and driving the development of our diagnostic facilities to keep us ahead of the curve.
Key Responsibilities
- Workshop & Workflow Management: Oversee daily workshop activities. Strategically assign work to the engineers to optimise turnaround times, manage priorities, and meet customer deadlines.
- Team Leadership & Development: Utilise your excellent team management skills to mentor, coach, and develop a technical team, ensuring high morale and continuous skill progression.
- Facility & Test Equipment Development: Lead the continuous improvement and development of internal test equipment, rigs, and workshop facilities to expand our repair capabilities.
- Technical Quality Control: Ensure all component-level troubleshooting, soldering, and repairs meet strict quality standards before equipment is returned to service.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring full compliance with workshop safety standards.
What We Are Looking For
- Proven Leadership: Demonstrated experience managing a technical team, with the ability to effectively delegate tasks and manage diverse workshop activities.
- Electronic Circuit Expertise: A strong, practical, all-round knowledge of electronic circuits and components, alongside solid component-level diagnostic skills.
- Automated Systems Knowledge: Good technical knowledge of automated systems, including hands-on familiarity with components like Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), PLCs, and HMIs.
- Manufacturing Production Line Insight: A clear understanding of manufacturing production lines and how automated machinery integrates into a live factory floor, allowing you to appreciate the urgency of our clients' requirements.
- Forward-Thinking Mindset: An interest or experience in designing and building custom test facilities or rigs to help the team replicate live production environments.
Why Join Us?
We solve the complex technical puzzles that keep modern industry moving. If you are looking for a role where you can lead a talented team, manage dynamic workshop operations, and directly influence the development of cutting-edge testing facilities, we want to hear from you.
