Café Supervisor and Assistant
We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and customer-focused Café Supervisor and Cafe Assistant to join our team at a busy award-winning Café. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with hospitality experience who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in delivering outstanding service, and can confidently support the day-to-day running of the Café.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a warm, professional and efficient service to every customer.
- Support the daily operation of the café, ensuring high standards are maintained throughout service.
- Assist with supervising staff on shift, delegating tasks and leading by example.
- 'Meet and greet' customers, provide with relevant menus and special boards
- Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks, including wine, beer and spirits.
- Take orders and lay up the table accordingly.
- Operate the till accurately, process payments and assist with cashing up procedures.
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, food safety and health and safety compliance at all times.
- Monitor stock levels, assist with stock rotation, deliveries and ordering as required.
- Handle customer queries and complaints professionally and help resolve issues promptly.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures and ensure the café is secure and ready for service.
- Support the wider team during busy periods and contribute to a positive working environment within the Cafe, courtyard and adjacent Stores
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a café, coffee shop, restaurant or similar hospitality environment.
- Experience of working in a busy customer facing role.
- Confident supervising a shift or supporting team members in a leadership capacity.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Good organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
- A hands-on, flexible and proactive approach to work.
- Understanding of food hygiene, allergen awareness and health and safety good practice.
