We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic General Grounds Keeper & Recycling Operative to join our team at Clovelly. This varied, hands-on role is essential in helping to maintain the cleanliness, safety and presentation of the estate, while supporting grounds maintenance, recycling operations and general estate duties.
The successful candidate will take pride in their work, enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions, and contribute positively to the smooth running of the estate. The role requires walking up and down Clovelly’s famous cobbled High Street carrying tools and materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the appearance of designated areas through sweeping, strimming and general upkeep.
- Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of estate grounds and public areas.
- Collect and transport recycling and waste materials safely to designated holding areas.
- Assist with the removal and transportation of goods, including house clearances and commercial items.
- Support the unloading and loading of deliveries, stock and materials.
- Maintain the security of assigned work areas.

Desirable
- Experience in grounds maintenance, recycling, waste management or estate work.
- Experience operating tractors or similar machinery.
- Understanding of health and safety procedures, including COSHH.
