Community Support Worker (Acquired Brain Injury Support) - Oswestry

Headway Shropshire is looking for a compassionate and reliable Community Support Worker to support a gentleman living with an acquired brain injury in the Oswestry area.
This is a rewarding opportunity to provide one-to-one, person-centred support, helping an individual access their local community, achieve personal goals and maintain independence.
A full UK driving licence is essential, and you must be confident driving and willing to drive the client's vehicle.
What you'll be doing
Working closely with the individual, their family and the wider support team, you will:
- Support access to the local community and social activities
- Accompany the individual to gym sessions, physiotherapy appointments and other planned activities
- Encourage independence, confidence and choice in daily life
- Provide practical and emotional support tailored to the individual's needs
- Drive the client's vehicle to appointments and community activities
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals
- Promote wellbeing, dignity and person-centred support at all times
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone who is:
- Compassionate, patient and reliable
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing needs
- Confident working independently and using their own initiative
- An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Interested in supporting people living with acquired brain injury
- In possession of a full UK driving licence
- Comfortable driving the client's vehicle
Previous care or support experience is desirable but not essential, as full training and ongoing support will be provided.

Work Location: Community based across Oswestry and surrounding areas
Please note: Whilst this vacancy is linked to a specific support package in Oswestry, all Community Support Workers are expected to work flexibly across other Headway Shropshire services where required.
