Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our team, within our busy extended hours pharmacy. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to patients. This position requires strong organisational skills, a commitment to patient care, and the ability to work collaboratively within a pharmacy environment.
We are looking for a part time candidate for around 30 hours per week. Hours will be primarily evening focussed but will include a few daytime shifts and a weekend per month.
Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and over-the-counter products in accordance with established protocols.
- Assist in medication administration under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Provide exceptional patient care by addressing inquiries and offering guidance on medication usage and potential side effects.
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions dispensed and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff to manage inventory levels, including ordering and restocking medications as necessary.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the pharmacy workspace to promote a safe environment for both staff and patients.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry standards and practices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a pharmacy dispenser is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medication administration practices is essential.
- Strong commitment to patient care, with excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy management software and systems is an advantage.
