Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Health and Safety Consultant to join our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment for all staff. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards, conducting risk assessments, and advising management on best practices to minimise workplace incidents. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across various departments and operational sites
- Develop, review, and update health and safety policies in line with current legislation
- Deliver training sessions on health and safety procedures, including first aid protocols
- Investigate workplace incidents by performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
- Prepare detailed reports documenting findings, recommendations, and corrective actions
- Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations through regular inspections
- Advise management on the implementation of safety measures and best practices
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports
- Promote a culture of safety awareness among employees through ongoing communication
- Carry out site inspections to a tailored schedule.
- Complete reporting and feedback.
Experience
- Proven experience in a health and safety advisory or consultancy role within an organisational setting ideally in construction.
- Demonstrable knowledge of current health and safety legislation and standards applicable in the UK
- Certification in first aid is essential; additional qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH are highly desirable
- Experience in report writing with the ability to produce clear, concise documentation
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in root cause analysis techniques
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Previous experience conducting training sessions or workshops on health and safety topics is advantageous

Pay: £45,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
