ABOUT THE ROLE This is a permanent nights position within a well-established nursing and dementia care home of around 55–60 beds. The home offers 24-hour nursing care across residential, nursing and specialist dementia units, including a recently completed, purpose-designed dementia unit. As Senior Care Assistant, you'll be the lead presence on the night shift, ensuring every resident is safe, comfortable and well cared for, while supporting and guiding the team around you.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Supporting residents with personal care, comfort and night-time routines, always maintaining dignity and respect
- Conducting regular checks to ensure residents are safe and settled throughout the night
- Providing reassurance and companionship to residents who may feel unsettled
- Leading and supervising the night care team, delegating tasks and maintaining consistent standards
- Maintaining accurate care records and updating care plans as required
- Administering medications safely and in line with care standards
- Responding calmly and promptly to any incidents or emergencies during the shift
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Experience in a senior or supervisory care role within a residential or nursing home setting
- A caring, compassionate approach with a genuine commitment to person-centred care
- Confident administering medications and maintaining accurate care documentation
- Calm under pressure with the ability to lead a team effectively through the night
- Reliable and flexible, with availability for regular nights including some weekends
- Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or a willingness to work towards it
