Duties of a Diagnostic Vehicle Technician:
- Diagnosing vehicle faults using state-of-the-art diagnostic systems such as BMW ISTA and Autologic
- Conducting routine vehicle servicing and maintenance
- Performing complex repairs, including timing belt replacements and system diagnostics
- Conducting vehicle inspections and test drives to assess performance
- Completing accurate service records and documentation
- Adhering to health and safety protocols and company procedures
- Providing excellent customer service and maintaining a professional image
Requirements for the Diagnostic Vehicle Technician role:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in vehicle diagnostics and mechanical repair, ideally within a prestige brand environment
- Full UK driving licence
- MOT Tester licence or willingness to obtain one
- Strong diagnostic skills, particularly with BMW ISTA and other diagnostic tools
- Proven ability to perform complex repairs, including timing belts and system diagnostics
- Qualification of City and Guilds AVCE, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent
- Own toolkit sufficient for vehicle repairs and diagnostics
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently
