New opening in Edinburgh, CABO is a high end Mexican restaurant.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead the Cabo kitchen.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and inspiring creativity within the team. The Head Chef will play a pivotal role in maintaining the restaurant’s reputation for high-quality cuisine and excellent service.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs and kitchen staff, to ensure smooth daily operations
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet quality standards and customer expectations
- Manage food production processes, including menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and portion control
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene within the kitchen environment
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control efficiently
- Train staff on culinary techniques, safety procedures, and service standards
- Collaborate with management on menu development and special event planning
- Maintain a positive working environment that promotes teamwork, motivation, and professional growth
- Uphold hospitality standards by supporting serving staff during busy periods when necessary
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a senior culinary role, ideally as a Head Chef or Sous Chef with supervisory responsibilities
- Extensive background in food production, food preparation, and cooking techniques
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
- Experience working within a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management
- A passion for culinary innovation and delivering exceptional guest experiences
Pay: £37,500.00-£39,000.00 per year
