Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled HGV Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. A strong focus on safety and customer service is essential.
You must have at least 60 days driving experience in class 1 in the last 6 months and no more than 9 points.
The job will be curtain side - general haulage. There is no handball.
Duties
- Operate curtain side trailer for the delivery of goods to various locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required by the company.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving, promoting safety on the road.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any questions or concerns from clients.
Experience
- Previous experience as a delivery driver is preferred, with a strong understanding of commercial driving practices.
- A valid commercial driving licence is required.
- Familiarity with local routes and traffic patterns will be beneficial.
