Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated QA/QC to join our team here at Nythe Farm Kitchen. This role will be Part Time 13:45-22:00, and possibly working 1 in every 4 Saturdays (09:00-16:00 but can vary) with a day of in lieu.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our cooked chicken products, meeting highest standards of food quality and safety. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about maintaining excellence within a dynamic manufacturing environment. The role involves handling both raw and cooked chicken, working in temperature controlled environments, analysing processes, conducting inspections & audits, calibration of equipment and implementing quality assurance procedures to uphold compliance within industry standards.
Duties
- Record daily and weekly checks on relevant paperwork and report any non conformances to management.
- Create labels for production, once signed off print and leave in relevant area. Print extra when required and ensure there are labels ready for next production.
- Carry out all usual internal audits such as GMP audits, Glass & Brittle, BRC etc.
- Carry out daily checks in production ensuring all procedures are being followed correctly; including checking bag weight, pre packing temperatures, products are meeting specifications etc. Ensure all CCPs are adhered to by all staff.
- Ensure production paperwork is topped up and printed on correct colour paper. Audit completed production paperwork when returned and raise any non conformances with management.
- Launch data loggers, collect from production and download data.
- Collect production samples, fill in lab paperwork, collate and trend results.
- Accompany contractors and visitors in production, assist with audits and customer visits as required.
- Assist with customer and audit traces, including customer complaints.
- Daily checks include fridge temperatures, scale calibration, gas analysis, ATP machine, temperature probes, data loggers, cooker probes etc.
- Carry out weekly swabbing, collate and trend results.
- Assist with creating and maintaining daily production plans and paperwork.
Requirements
- Proven experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing or food production environment.
- Knowledge of HACCP standards and their application in ensuring product safety.
- Knowledge & understanding of BRC accreditation requirements.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Effective communication skills for liaising across departments and documenting findings clearly.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in quality management or assurance are desirable but not essential. This role is ideal for motivated individuals committed to maintaining high standards of quality and safety within a fast-paced setting.
