We are seeking to recruit Healthcare Assistants with proven
experience.
As a new registration, this role provides an exciting opportunity to
create and shape a service specialising in catering to older adults, with
high needs Dementia care.
The Home is the latest addition to the Wavemill Healthcare Group,
which also runs a sister home nearby. With a legacy of over 20

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to follow care plans, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care. The Healthcare Assistant will work closely with healthcare professionals to deliver personalised support tailored to each individual's needs.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
- Support the implementation of care plans by monitoring patients’ conditions and reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
- Drive patients to appointments or social activities as required.
- Maintain accurate records of patient progress and care provided.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare staff to ensure continuity of care.
- Utilise IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in healthcare practices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home care or a healthcare setting is preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to drive is advantageous for transporting patients as needed.
- Familiarity with creating and following care plans is beneficial.
- A caring attitude with a genuine desire to help others.
- Basic IT skills for documentation and record-keeping purposes.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the needs of the service.
