Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled HGV CE Night Shunter to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in moving our customer's goods to our network partners in the central regions and returning freight to our depot based in Sudbury, Suffolk.
The role is for Monday- Friday nights with an average of 11 hours per shift.
Duties
- Conduct pre-shift inspections of vehicles to ensure they are roadworthy and compliant with safety standards.
- Assist in loading and unloading goods as necessary, ensuring proper handling of cargo.
- Collaborate with dispatch teams to coordinate vehicle movements and ensure timely departures.
- Maintain a clean and organised working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Report any maintenance or repair needs for vehicles promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Follow all company policies and procedures regarding vehicle operation and safety.
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar commercial driving role is preferred.
- A valid HGV CE licence is required for this position.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in vehicle operation.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure.
