The Burn How is a charming, family-run hotel set across multiple beautiful Victorian properties just moments from Lake Windermere. With 27 guest rooms and a close-knit team, we pride ourselves on delivering warm, friendly service in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
The Role:
We are looking for a motivated and reliable General Assistant to join our team. This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys working across different areas of a hotel, including breakfast service, housekeeping, and reception.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with morning breakfast service:
- Welcoming and seating guests
- Taking orders and serving food
- Cleaning guest rooms and maintaining high housekeeping standards
- Supporting reception duties, including:
- Checking guests in and out
- Handling enquiries, bookings, and phone calls
- Working closely with the team to ensure a smooth and enjoyable guest experience
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in hospitality (hotel, housekeeping, or reception) preferred
- A positive, friendly, and proactive attitude
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Willingness to learn and work across multiple departments
- Flexibility to work weekends and varied shifts
