Cleaning Supervisor
Pay Rate: £13.21 per hour
Location: Pulborough Arundel
Hours: 7.5 Hours Per Week
Shift Pattern: Monday & Wednesday & Friday 6:30pm - 9pm - 2.5 Hour Per Night
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Part-Time 39 Weeks Per Annum Term Time & Non Term Time Cleaning
KEY HOLDER RESPONSIBILITIES
Working across 2 schools approx. 15mins apart to support the cleaners & lock up.
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Cleaning Supervisor to join our team.
You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of cleaning staff, providing training and guidance as needed.
- Develop and manage cleaning schedules to ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and on time.
- Inspect work areas regularly to ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; order replacements as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Handle staff performance issues and resolve operational problems promptly.
- Prepare reports on cleaning activities, staff performance, and supply usage.
- Coordinate with other departments for special cleaning requirements or events.
Cleaning Duties:
- Perform general cleaning tasks when required, including:
- Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
- Dusting and wiping surfaces, furniture, and fixtures.
- Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, kitchens, and common areas.
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately.
- Washing windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
- Operate cleaning equipment safely and maintain it in good condition.
- Follow proper procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and materials.
- Respond to urgent cleaning requests promptly.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in cleaning or facility management preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in a cleaning or housekeeping role, with at least 1 year in a supervisory position.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends if required.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions:
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks when necessary.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Work may involve standing for long periods.
