Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bench Joiner to join our woodworking and construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating high-quality bespoke joinery products, including furniture, fittings, and fixtures, primarily working in a workshop environment. Duties
- Fabricate custom joinery components according to detailed drawings and specifications
- Assemble wooden parts using various hand tools and power tools to produce precise and durable products
- Operate woodworking machinery safely and efficiently, including saws, drills, and sanders
- Conduct finishing tasks such as sanding, polishing, and applying protective coatings to ensure high-quality standards
- Assist with the installation of joinery items on-site when required
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure specifications are met within deadlines
Skills
- Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, and carpentry with a focus on joinery work
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as chisels, saws, planes, and measuring devices
- Competence with power tools including drills, routers, and sanders
- Knowledge of masonry, roofing, plumbing, electrical work or construction painting is advantageous but not essential
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling of materials throughout the day
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
