Job Overview
We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Street Services Driver to join a busy depot operation in Brighton. This is a temporary assignment for up to 12 weeks with an immediate start available.
The successful candidate will support the Streets Service team by driving a caged van and assisting with the removal of side waste from communal bin areas, helping to keep local communities clean and safe.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a caged van across designated routes.
- Remove side waste from communal bin locations.
- Support street cleansing and environmental maintenance activities.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects.
- Follow all health and safety procedures.
- Undertake additional duties as required by the Streets Service team.
- Working well in a team of two.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service when interacting with members of the public.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Category B driving licence.
- Previous experience driving a caged van.
- Good knowledge of safe driving practices.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Flexible and proactive approach to work.
- Strong reliability and punctuality.
Working Hours :
This role operates on a rolling rota working 6 days per week.
Shift patterns include:
- 05:00 – 13:00
- 06:00 – 14:00
Weekend work is required.
Rate of pay:
£13.69 per hour inclusive of holiday pay.
