Overview
We are seeking a Vehicle Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, servicing, maintaining, and repairing vehicles to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. The role involves carrying out routine maintenance, replacing defective parts, and completing repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards. This will heavily include Tyres, brakes, exhaust systems and suspension replacemtns.
Duties
- Perform routine vehicle servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and inspections.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment.
- Carry out repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and other vehicle systems.
- Conduct vehicle health checks and identify additional repair requirements.
- Replace worn or defective components and parts.
- Test vehicles before and after repairs to ensure roadworthiness and quality standards.
- Complete service records, job cards, and maintenance documentation accurately.
- Follow manufacturer guidelines and workshop procedures.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe working environment.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and workshop management regarding repair progress and recommendations.
Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (e.g., NVQ 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- Experience working as a vehicle technician, mechanic, or automotive service technician.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Knowledge of modern vehicle systems, including electrical and electronic components.
- Ability to use diagnostic software and workshop equipment.
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
