NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday.
The post offered is a Substantive Specialty Dentist within the Oral Medicine Department based at Glasgow Dental Hospital.
The post holder will contribute to all aspects of clinical activity in Department of Oral Medicine. The prime clinical role of the post will be to provide a specialist service for local general dental and medical practitioners referring outpatients with complex oral mucosal disease, oral disease occurring as a manifestation of systemic disease or complex facial pain. There is no out of hours or on call commitment.
However there is an on- call rota and second cover Consultant Rota to ensure that an Oral Medicine opinion can be provided during working hours and to support specialty dentists and junior staff. It is expected that the successful candidate will support the service re-design work already underway, providing diagnostic skills, treatment planning and where appropriate shared care pathways with primary care clinicians.
All applicants must possess Full GDC Registration with at least 4 Years full time Post Graduate Training or demonstrate and evidence equivalent experience and competencies.
