Based Sherburn in Elmet
Salary up to £35,000 basic
Working hours: Mon – Thurs 8.00am -17.00pm Fri 8.00am - 15.30pm

Privately owned for 45 years, and now one of the UK’s leading & multi award winning Engineering companies, WEC Group is looking to recruit an enthusiastic CAD CAM Programmer to join our expanding team at Sherburn Metalwork based in Sherburn in Elmet.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced CAD CAM Programmer, looking to progress within a dynamic and rapidly expanding engineering firm.
Role & Responsibilities
- Create 2D CNC CAD Programs with the use of CAD / CAM software.
- Updating and maintaining material & consumable stock lists using Microsoft Excel, Work & Outlook.
- Assist with the running of customer projects as and when required.
- Office administration duties as required by the General Manager
- Dealing with customers both over the phone and in person.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
- Fully competent in using CAD/CAM Software
- Previous experience in a 2D CNC cutting environment is required.
- Experience of 3D drawing packages would be beneficial i.e. Inventor.
- Previous experience with Trumpf Boost software to program Fibre Laser is desirable although full training will be provided
- Previous experience with Trumpf Boost software to offline program Pressbrake is desirable although full training will be provided.
- Previous experience operating Laser and Pressbrake machines would be advantageous, not necessary.
- Fully understand technical drawings & draw or develop flat pattern components
- Experience of sheet metal fabrication is an advantage
- Experience of Microsoft Access Database systems preferable but full training will be provided
- Use of Microsoft Office packages including Excel, Word, Outlook is essential
- Excellent organisational, numeracy and computer literacy skills and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings
