LC Longtown is growing! As part of our expansion, we’re looking for Engineers who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and being part of the farming community — whether you come from an engineering background, farming, or a mix of both.
You’ll play a key part in keeping farms running smoothly by:
· Servicing, maintaining, and installing Lely robotic milking and feeding systems
· Working directly on farms, alongside farmers and livestock
· Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
· Using laptops and diagnostic software as part of day-to-day work
· Taking part in a paid on-call rota to support customers when needed
· Building long-term, trusted relationships with farmers and colleagues
This is a varied, field-based role — no two days are the same.
You don’t need to fit a mould. We’re interested in people who are:
· Experienced or qualified in mechanical, agricultural, or service engineering
· Comfortable working around livestock and in outdoor farm environments
· Practical, hands-on, and calm when solving problems
· Confident using computers for diagnostics and reporting
· Organised, self-motivated, and happy working independently or as part of a team
· Holding a full UK driving licence (max. 6 points)

· £30,000–£35,000 per year, plus overtime and on-call pay
· Company van, laptop, mobile phone, uniform, and PPE
· Full product and systems training at Lely Center Longtown and Lely Atlantic
· Ongoing support from a close-knit local team

· Hours: Monday to Friday, with paid overtime and occasional weekend work
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Location: Field-based — visiting farms across Northern England
