This role is ideal for graduates looking to gain valuable experience within education before progressing into teaching, educational psychology, pastoral care, youth work, or child support services.
About the Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support students both inside and outside the classroom.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting students during lessons and group activities
- Providing one-to-one or small group academic support
- Encouraging student confidence, engagement, and participation
- Supporting behaviour management and positive learning habits
- Assisting students with organisation and classroom routines
- Helping create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Building strong relationships with students and staff
The role involves supporting students who may require additional encouragement, guidance, or learning support within an inclusive educational environment.
Student Needs
Students may present with:
- Mild to moderate learning difficulties
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD
- Speech and communication challenges
- Low confidence or anxiety
- Behavioural or emotional support needs
- Gaps in learning or attainment
