This is an advert for our new pub in Burford, The Mermaid. We are looking for experienced Front of House Staff to join our exciting new project, growing The Mermaid in Burford to a vibrant community pub with great food and excellent service.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly and manage reservations efficiently
- Take orders accurately and serve food and beverages promptly
- Offer strong and friendly service every time
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items and specials
- Ensure adherence to food safety standards at all times
- Handle customer enquiries courteously and work with managers to resolve any issues promptly
- Support barista duties if required, including preparing specialised coffee drinks
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation during service periods
Requirements
- Previous experience in a pub, gastropub or restaurant is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices
- Strong communication skills with a friendly, professional manner
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods
- Experience in serving, food preparation, or barista work is advantageous
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends if needed
- Personal presentation that reflects the professional standards of the establishment
