Job Overview
We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Activity Coordinator to organise and oversee activities for children within our Holiday Club. The role involves planning and delivering engaging age-appropriate activities.
The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with young children. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a positive environment that promotes learning, development, and fun. The Activity Leader will be responsible for planning, facilitating, and supervising various activities tailored to children's interests and developmental stages, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. Must have experience in leading activities with children aged 2-10, qualified an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, and lead a variety of age-appropriate activities suitable for children of different ages.
- Supervise children during activities, ensuring their safety and engagement at all times.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages participation and social interaction.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure clear understanding of activity goals and safety procedures.
- Maintain organisation of activity materials and equipment, ensuring they are clean, safe, and ready for use.
- Monitor behaviour during activities, promoting positive conduct and resolving any conflicts promptly.
- Assist with the setup and tidying of activity areas before and after sessions.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies regarding child safety and wellbeing.
- Support the development of new programmes or activities based on children's interests and feedback.
Skills
- experience in management or leadership roles within childcare or early childhood education settings an advantage
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan engaging activities tailored to children's needs.
- Excellent communication skills in English, capable of effectively liaising with children, parents, and team members.
- Experience working with children, including childcare or nursery experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles to facilitate age-appropriate activities.
- Ability to demonstrate patience, creativity, and enthusiasm when working with young children.
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
