Fountain Frozen are a successful and highly respected manufacturer and distributor of frozen coated vegetables for major retail and food service customers. As the business is developing there is a need to strengthen the production team on site at the Wisbech factory.
PRODUCTION / HYGIENE OPERATIVE
Hours of Work:
Monday: 10pm to 4am
Tuesday to Thursday: 10pm to 6am
Friday: 9pm to 7am
The Role: As an essential member of the production and hygiene team you will operate machines, completing all relevant checks and paperwork and assist with weekly hygiene duties.
Responsibilities:
- To ensure all factory equipment and environmental areas are cleaned, as scheduled, on a daily / weekly basis. This will include rotation around areas / equipment as required and as trained against.
- To operate in full accordance with cleaning instruction cards for the tasks trained.
- To have full understanding and work in full compliance with the COSHH and H&S procedures on site at all times.
- To ensure all control panels/motor housings/sensors are covered prior to carrying out any hygiene duties (using blue liners and BLUE TAPE ONLY )
- To use and handle all equipment and chemicals with due care and attention to prevent risk of damage and injury.
- To have a good attention to detail, checking that all cleaning activities have been completed in full to the required standard, preventing risk of cross contamination and take appropriate corrective action if hygiene standards are not met.
- To have and foster a good working relationships within the department and between departments to create a team ‘can do’ attitude.
- To use own initiative to carry out further cleaning tasks
- To report all hygiene and H&S hazards and/or unsafe working practices to the Hygiene management.
- To report all accidents to the First Aider on site and the Hygiene management.
- To ensure that the correct PPE is worn at all times and that PPE is in good condition, requesting replacement if damaged.
- Faulty or damaged processing equipment found during or caused by cleaning must be reported to the engineers/hygiene management immediately.
- To complete all documentation in full, as required.
Skills and Experience:
This is an ideal role for someone who is or has worked as a Production/Hygiene, preferably working in the food industry (Frozen).
You will need:
- Basic Food Hygiene and H&S knowledge (training provided where necessary)
- Good communication skills.
- Can multi-task and prioritise.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Knowledge of production machinery.
- Numerate and Literate.
This is a full-time permanent contract for the right candidate.
