About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Fire Stopping Operative to join our growing team. This role will involve carrying out passive fire protection works across a variety of commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and public sector properties throughout the Greater Manchester area and surrounding regions.
Travel is an essential part of the role, therefore a full UK driving licence is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation of fire stopping systems including batt and mastic, fire sealants, pipe collars, wraps, sleeves, cavity barriers, and penetration seals.
- Ensuring all installations are completed in line with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Working from drawings, specifications, and site instructions.
- Recording completed works and installation evidence using digital reporting systems where required.
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship, quality, and compliance.
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Working independently and as part of a team across multiple sites. These responsibilities reflect common fire stopping operative duties across the passive fire protection sector.
Requirements
- Previous experience in passive fire protection / fire stopping.
- Good understanding of fire stopping products, systems, and installation methods.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- Relevant industry qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 Passive Fire Protection, FIRAS, BM TRADA, or equivalent are desirable but not essential.
- Experience using systems such as Bolster are desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
- Ability to work flexibly and travel throughout the Greater Manchester area and beyond as required.
