Responsibilities
- Cook dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in the organisation and mise en place of the kitchen station
- Ensure all food is prepared efficiently and served promptly to meet service times
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas, adhering to food safety regulations
- Support other kitchen staff during busy periods, including assisting with meal preparation and plating
- Monitor stock levels and notify management of any shortages or equipment issues
- Follow health and safety procedures consistently to ensure a safe working environment
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a kitchen assistant
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Previous restaurant or culinary experience is highly desirable
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Knowledge of meal preparation techniques and serving standards
