Job Overview:
Due to continued growth, Airco Refrigeration & Air Conditioning is seeking an experienced Building Services Electrical Design Engineer to join our expanding in-house design team at our Hull Head Office.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated engineer with a strong background in Electrical Building Services Design and extensive HVAC knowledge across a diverse range of sectors. You'll take ownership of electrical design from concept through to detailed design, delivering innovative, coordinated and compliant solutions while working closely with clients, consultants and project teams. This is a full-time role based in Hull, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The position is primarily office-based, with some site visits required.
What You'll Do
- Lead the electrical design and delivery of building services projects from concept through to completion.
- Produce electrical design calculations using industry-standard electrical design software.
- Prepare electrical reports and technical specifications.
- Produce fully coordinated electrical design drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Develop coordinated electrical designs alongside mechanical and public health services across all RIBA design stages.
- Produce lighting, power, small power, fire alarm, security and other building services electrical designs.
- Attend client, design and project meetings, presenting designs for peer and stage reviews.
- Undertake site surveys, condition assessments and technical reports.
- Ensure designs comply with current legislation, British Standards and client requirements.
- Support sustainable, low-carbon building solutions through energy-efficient electrical system design.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, fully integrated projects across a wide range of sectors.
About You
You'll have proven experience in Electrical Building Services Design and be confident managing multiple projects from concept through to completion.
You'll also have:
- Strong knowledge of HVAC and electrical building services.
- Experience producing electrical calculations using recognised industry software.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and electrical design software.
- Experience delivering coordinated electrical designs across a variety of sectors.
- A sound understanding of UK Building Regulations, British Standards and industry best practice.
- Excellent communication, organisational and client-facing skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary design teams.
