Yard Operative – Livingston – 12.71 p/h
CVA is one of the leading auction houses in the UK, whilst predominantly known for being the most established HGV auctioneers in the country, they sell a wide range of assets across their regular sales programme that includes trucks & trailers, cars & vans, plant & machinery as well as holding several onsite retirement / dispersal sales each year. They are widely regarded as being at the front of industry innovation, representing a broad portfolio of clients ranging from owner operators and small businesses, though too some of Europe’s largest blue-chip companies, banks & finance houses.
CVA are now looking for a Yard Operative to join their established team in Livingston.
Requirements:
Full training will be provided but the following will be required:
- Previous experience working as a yard operative would be an advantage
- Telehandler and / or FLT License desirable
- Driver’s licence is essential
- IT literate
- Customer service skills
- Ability to work with initiative as well as part of a team
- Good communication and organisational skills
Duties:
- Booking in vehicles e.g. mileage etc
- Taking photos of vehicles and uploading on IT systems.
- Handing over vehicles and speaking to customers.
- Undertake appraisal of vehicles in line with customer requirements, and enter information onto the Company system accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure that non-runners are notified to the appropriate manager.
- Working out in the yard keeping the area clean and tidy.
- Shunting vehicles in the yard to the correct locations.
- Jump starting vehicles if required.
- Valeting of vehicles as and when required.
- Undertake any cross-functional tasks in the yard department to ensure that operational requirements are met.
Hours:
40 hours per week – overtime as and when
Pay: £12.71 per hour
