Location: Huddersfield (HD5) – School-based role
Salary: £15,000 per year
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm (term time)
Additional Location: Leeds office during school holidays

Overview
Start your career in IT with this exciting IT Support Apprenticeship supporting a busy school environment.
You’ll gain hands-on experience providing 1st line support, troubleshooting issues, and working alongside an experienced mentor who has successfully supported apprentices progressing to higher levels. This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in IT who wants to build practical skills in a real-world environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1st line IT support to staff and students
- Assist with password resets and user account issues
- Troubleshoot hardware and software problems
- Support the setup and maintenance of PCs, laptops, and networks
- Work as part of a helpdesk team to resolve technical queries
- Ensure systems are running efficiently and escalate issues where required
What You’ll Learn
As part of your Level 3 apprenticeship, you will develop skills in:
- IT infrastructure and systems support
- Hardware, software, and network maintenance
- Using tools to monitor and manage IT systems
- Prioritising support requests and maintaining performance
- Working to professional, legal, and regulatory standards
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- 5 GCSEs (grade 4/C or above), including English and Maths
- Strong interest in IT and technology
- Good communication skills, especially face-to-face
- Basic IT knowledge and problem-solving ability
- Self-motivated and eager to learn
Desirable:
- Experience helping friends or family with IT issues
- Understanding of basic hardware or software troubleshooting
