Our customers don't visit Bonners for a hard sell. They come to us because they value honest advice, expert demonstrations and the opportunity to compare some of the world's finest pianos in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
We're looking for a confident, personable and commercially minded musician to join our Newcastle showroom team, working closely alongside our Showroom Manager.
This is a senior showroom position. In time, you will become the Showroom Manager's deputy, taking responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the showroom whenever they are away.
Working Pattern
This is a full-time position, 34 hours per week, spread over 5 days, including every Saturday.
Your normal days off will be Wednesday and Sunday, although occasional flexibility may be required for manufacturer training, company meetings and special events.
What We're Looking For
You'll ideally be someone who:
- Can play the piano confidently to a strong intermediate or advanced standard and enjoys demonstrating instruments to customers.
- Is friendly, approachable and professional.
- Enjoys helping customers make informed purchasing decisions.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is organised, reliable and capable of working independently.
- Is confident making sensible day-to-day commercial decisions.
- Has the maturity to take responsibility for the showroom when required.
- Is comfortable using computers and learning new systems.
- Has a genuine passion for music and pianos.
- Is ambitious and interested in developing into a deputy leadership role.
- Previous retail or customer service experience would be advantageous, but is not essential.
What You'll Be Doing
Every day is different.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Demonstrating acoustic and digital pianos to customers.
- Helping customers choose the right instrument for their needs and budget.
- Delivering an outstanding customer experience from first enquiry through to purchase.
- Opening and closing the showroom.
- Processing customer orders and finance applications.
- Handling customer enquiries by telephone, email and in person.
- Following up quotations and customer enquiries.
- Maintaining exceptional showroom presentation and standards.
- Learning about the latest products from the world's leading piano manufacturers.
- Occasionally appearing in product demonstrations, videos and social media content.
- Working closely with colleagues across Bonners' four UK showrooms.
- Supporting the Showroom Manager in the day-to-day operation of the business.
- Taking responsibility for the showroom whenever the Showroom Manager is absent, ensuring the business continues to operate smoothly and customers receive the high standard of service Bonners is known for.
Training & Development
While previous piano retail experience isn't essential, you'll receive comprehensive training from both Bonners and many of the world's leading piano manufacturers.
As your knowledge and confidence develop, you'll take on increasing responsibility within the showroom and will be supported in developing into the Showroom Manager's deputy.
